Aquatic Leadership

Don't miss out. If we are not currently offering a course you are looking for please email the Aquatic Supervisor to be added to our contact list. Include the candidates name, phone number and email along with the course(s) you are loooking for. Once we have one scheduled we will contact you to let you know!  To be added to the list please email colton.maracle@ytr.ymca.ca.

Please register for all courses a minimum of 7 days in advance of the start date. Courses that do not have sufficient registration one week before the start date are subject to cancellation, with full refund to participants. Participants who choose to un-enroll in a course 2 weeks or more prior to a course will be issued a full refund. Participants who choose to un-enroll 2 weeks or less before the start of the course, or who do not have the appropriate pre-requisites at the start of the course, will not be refunded.

We are still working out all of the details of the course updates with COVID-19 protocols. Some changes that you can expect include reduced numbers of participants in the class, increased cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, and use of PPE (masks, face shields). Participants may also be asked to bring a member of their family/social bubble to some classes to allow them to safely practice skills that require direct contact. This information will be communicated to you before the start of the course.

Private Lessons | Is your child stuck on a certain stroke, or needs help gettign comortable in the water? Are you looking for

one-on-one instruction? Are you looking to enhance your own strokes or confidence in the water? Private lessons are the way

to go! This is a great way to improve self-esteem and confidence in the water for swimmers of any age. Private lessons are half

hour in length and have a per class cost of $20 for YMCA Members or $25 for Non-Members. To book private lessons contact

Alex Ramadani, Aquatics Coordinator, for more information.

in the water and develop safe swimming habits. Whether you are looking to upgrade your skills, or are a first time swimmer, we

The aquatic programs at the YMCA are about more than just techniques and skills; they are about building friendships, developing self-esteem and creating positive experiences that will last a lifetime.

• YMCA lessons are only for members, and the participant will need a current membership at the time of registration.

please speak with the instructor to arrange a time.
• Photographic equipment of any kind is not permitted in any of our change rooms.
• In the event of a pool fouling, the Ontario Health Regulations require pool closure.
