For Health and Wellness Members,

Updated on Feb 24, 2021

After several weeks of not being able to see you in-person safely, we are grateful for the opportunity to welcome you into our buildings again. We really have missed you.

There is a lot of important information we have to share with you here, so please take the time to read this page carefully.

As of Feb 16, 2021, our region has been operating in the ORANGE - RESTRICT zone of the COVID-19 response framework, and the Stay-at-Home order has been lifted.

Based on this, we have decided to reopen the Stratford Y and St. Marys YMCA on Feb 24, 2021.

What will we be offering when we reopen?

Important note about booking your visit:

If you are attending group fitness, using the pool, booking a court, or using the track, your visit must be booked in advance via your Member Portal.

Visits will be limited to one booking per day.

Building hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Vulnerable Person Hours (Mon – Fri): 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
  • Saturday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

What we will offer right away:

  • Group fitness classes with limited capacity (schedule will be available on your Member Portal on Feb 22, 2021 at 8:00am or view our Program Schedule Online)
  • Use of the conditioning centre and track
  • Squash and basketball
  • Continued virtual live-streaming classes, as well as on-demand workout videos
  • Lane swim and AquaFit
  • Personal training

What we won’t offer right away:

In the ORANGE - RESTRICT level, we will not be offering any swim lessons, or any children’s registered programs.

When will we start charging membership fees?

We will begin charging membership fees as of Feb 22, 2021. Your fees will resume on your regular bi-weekly schedule following this date.

Important notes

Your first payment:

As membership payments are typically bi-weekly, there may be a pro-rated fee added onto your first membership payment. It will only appear on your first payment.

Children’s memberships (0-14):

At this time all children’s memberships will remain on hold because we are currently not offering any children’s programming.

Since all of our programs are designed for ages 13+, if you or a member in your family is 13 or 14 years old and would like to visit the Y, we encourage you to do so and your membership will be reactivated when you visit.

Memberships paid in full:

We have added the duration of our closure as a credit on your account.

Memberships already active:

You can expect to see your regular bi-weekly fee payment. You have been experiencing the Y virtually for a little while, and when you're ready, we'll be very excited to see you in-person.

How will we keep you safe as you return to the Y?

  • Active screening of anyone entering the building, including a temperature check
  • Face coverings required at all times, except when exercising
  • Spacing between members at 3m in common workout spaces
  • Limited class sizes
  • Ensuring all visits to the Y are booked ahead of time via the Member Portal
  • Staggered visit times to ensure that there is no crowding or overlap between members who are visiting the Y for different activities
  • Visits will be for members of the branch only, no out-of-town visits or day passes

If you’re not ready to return, how can you extend the length of your hold?

We completely understand if you are not comfortable returning to the Y in-person. We invite you to keep your membership active and participate in our virtual programming as a way of staying healthy at home. If you wish to extend the length of your membership hold, you can do so directly via the form below:
